Skilled and Trained Workforce Apprenticeship Program
What are the qualifications to enter the Skilled and Trained Workforce Apprenticeship Program?
To qualify for the Skilled and Trained Workforce Apprenticeship Program, you must meet the following entry requirements:

Must submit a completed Application for Apprenticeship.

Must have a letter of sponsorship from your signatory employer.

Must be a current member in good standing of IUOE Local 12.

Must have at least 6,000 hours of verifiable Hoisting & Portable (H&P) Operating Engineer experience.

Must have at least 2.5 years of initiated membership in IUOE Local 12.

Must provide hour printout(s) of verified hours from IUOE Local(s).

Must be at least 18 years old.

Be legal to work in the United States

Must have a valid California Driver’s License.

Must have a valid Birth Certificate.

Must have a Social Security Card.

Pass a Substance Abuse Test.

Must provide a current completion certificate of Sexual Harassment Prevention Training from the State of California Civil Rights Department (CRD).
